Florida’s 14-Day Initial-Care Requirement
Florida Statutes § 627.736 generally requires an injured person to receive initial services and care within 14 days after the motor vehicle accident for PIP medical benefits. The statute identifies licensed chiropractic physicians among the professionals who may lawfully provide initial services and care.
Waiting can affect insurance benefits even when symptoms are delayed. If symptoms or concerns develop, arrange an appropriate evaluation and contact the insurer promptly about its claim process.
What PIP Generally Covers
FLHSMV states that PIP covers 80 percent of necessary and reasonable medical expenses up to $10,000 for a covered injury. Florida law also contains benefit limits, eligibility rules, emergency-medical-condition provisions, exclusions, and documentation requirements that may affect a specific claim.
Do not assume that every service or charge is covered. Confirm benefits, deductibles, claim instructions, and provider requirements directly with the insurance company.
How the Office Supports the Process
Elite Health Centers works with all auto insurances. The team documents history, examination findings, recommendations, care provided, response, and referrals as part of the clinical record.
The office can help collect policy and claim information, but it cannot guarantee payment or interpret your legal rights. Your insurer and a qualified Florida attorney are the appropriate sources for claim-specific guidance.
